Hrudaya Parivartan v/s guns

Vinoba once asked a few Marxist friends whether it was the gun that made them Marxist. Ideas are not changed by guns. It is Hrudaya Parivartan ( Change of Heart ).

Refering to the telengana movement, Vinoba said that he appreciated the then communists youth who took up the cause, and felt that it was his failure and the failure of peace believing people to address the basic issues. He therefore put all his energies into developing the Bhoodan movement. He asked people to give land, as he said that if we dont take care of those who are in need, it will give rise to violence and conflict, and they may do it by force.

In line with Vinobha's and Gandhi's call, I went to Bastaar to find this non-violent alternative. We started staying in the villages. When Salava Judum started, we opposed them, and so the government came and bulldozed the entire ashram. This helped us as the adivasis soon realised that we were one of them.
